I was talking to someone the other day about inspiration - what inspires me personally, what inspires me as an artist, and what keeps me going when "you just have lost the edge". The more I thought about it, that more I realized that I didn't have that many definite answers...sometimes I'm influenced by old photographs, sometimes it's travel, sometimes just everyday life. Aside from external influences and visual cues however, there is one thing that always inspires me and energizes my creativity: selfless love. There were so many glimpses of that throughout this wedding, from Kristin and James' nerves at the beginning of the day to their unabashed joy after the ceremony. These two love so genuinely, beyond just a surface level of romance or wedding day excitement. It's that selfless love for each other and their families and friends that made this day so much more than simply a big party: it was a covenant, a celebration of the beginning.
Needless to say, I was absolutely spoiled by this wedding. It was full of moments and personalities that can't be made or bought, and that is why I am so happy to be sharing it :)Shot at City Church and The Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi.
It's always a pleasure to work with people I already know, but there's something special about getting to know a couple during their engagement, and to see that story unfold through the wedding day. Paige and Drew spent a fair amount of the past year long distances from each other, due to Paige playing flute in England and Drew traveling in the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra for the US Army (seriously, how cool is that). Because of that, most of our communication was done remotely or with just one of them at a time. Perhaps that influenced me, but I was extra excited to see them on their wedding, be a part of their celebration and photograph them together. It was an incredible day - they love each other so openly and honestly, and it was a blast to see just how much they still have huge crushes on each other :) It was an honor to capture that for them, and to get to know them not just as a couple but also as friends. I couldn't help but share some of their day, so here are some sneak peeks of their wedding and our mini newlywed session!
I recently had the pleasure of getting to know Isaac and Annabelle, and I must say...they're pretty incredible. The three of us hit it off amazingly from the minute we met, and I was more than honored to photograph their wedding. Somehow I keep getting myself into weddings full of wonderful people, and this one certainly fit the bill. I felt practically spoiled. I could easily gush about how super they are, but I'll let the following highlights of their wedding day talk for me:
Congratulations, you two! :)
