Megan & Sean // St. Barthélemy Destination Elopement

One of my favorite aspects of wedding photography is seeing how a couple’s personality and love for each other will unfold through their wedding day, and being able to share that story.   Taylor and Alyssa both have the most awesome demeanors – rare combinations of cool and kind that start quietly and become stronger as you see them in their element.   What I found to be so refreshing about them was that their ‘elements’ were so selfless – the whole day they were focused on their families, their friends, God, and each other.  They lit up together as if no one else was nearby, and I am not exaggerating when I say that they had one of the ...

Megan & Sean // St. Barthélemy Destination Elopement

I was talking to someone the other day about inspiration - what inspires me personally, what inspires me as an artist, and what keeps me going when "you just have lost the edge".   The more I thought about it, that more I realized that I didn't have that many definite answers...sometimes I'm influenced by old photographs, sometimes it's travel, sometimes just everyday life.  Aside from external influences and visual cues however, there is one thing that always inspires me and energizes my creativity: selfless love. There were so many glimpses of that throughout this wedding, from Kristin and James' nerves at the beginning of the day to their unabashed joy after the ceremony. ...

Megan & Sean // St. Barthélemy Destination Elopement

I truly love what I do.   Perhaps it's due to my obsession with art, or my addiction to variety, or my passion for people and their stories...but wedding photography is immensely fulfilling to me.  Every wedding is its own adventure, bursting with emotions and experiences and offering a small glimpse of something larger than life.   There is no doubt in my mind that I will always photograph the lives and loves of people.    While that is so meaningful to me and something I truly believe God has placed on my heart, I do also just really enjoy the art of photography.  In the past I've stuck my hands in quite a few photo pies, be it live ...

Megan & Sean // St. Barthélemy Destination Elopement

Jacee and Kameron are some seriously fantastic folks.  They've got this great combination of kindness, class, and outright goofiness that is both infectious and WAY fun to shoot on a wedding day.  I was able to get to know them a bit at their engagement session (where they splashed in a creek and threw leaves at each other...gosh I need to share those), and one thing about them shines through: they love life.  They live with such heart and adventure, and it was clear to see that in their love for each other and their families and friends at the wedding.  We had such a great day, and I'm so happy to share some of their images!

Megan & Sean // St. Barthélemy Destination Elopement

You may hear people talk about how weddings are stressful, and how there's always so much happening that there's rarely enough time to have any fun.  Hogwash.  Wedding days may seem daunting, but at the end of the day it's all about having a blast, making new memories, and stepping into marriage with a big ole hug of support from all of your favorite people.  Justin and Krysten had that heartfelt fun-loving approach down so well it was infectious - I already laugh a lot at weddings so I was toast, but it seems like everyone else there caught the bug too.  They're a rad couple as it is - Krysten is my go-to person for music festival recommendations, Justin is ...
